So, are there any Opponauts on here that are polite, Chevrolet owners? For some reason, I have so much dislike towards them. Take this for example:

In work today, a guy pulled up in Corvette ZO6. Like a brand new looking C6 ZO6. His wife was absolutely beautiful and so was his car. The dude looked like he hits the gym constantly. Now, his attitude is where he makes me dislike him.

He acted like the world revolved around him. I tried to be nice, but he made it hard for me to be nice to. This is just one of the times a Chevrolet owner has come through to proving himself to be a hard-to-like guy.

I was also at a car show a few summers ago and it was filled with muscle cars. Out of nowhere, a purple Lotus Elise comes through and I'm gawking at it like I saw my first love. I was with my dad and said, "Hey dad, a Lotus!" Some Impala owner laughed at me and said, "A Lotus? That ain't no real car!"

Also, my brother is a huge GM fan and a total dickwad about it. He disrespects anything Japanese and claims they are fragile cars (my 350,000 mile Honda begs to differ) and anything the Europeans make is over priced garbage. At least he has owned some respectful Chevrolets.

Lastly, I keep meeting Camaro owners who think they are the coolest. They cut off traffic, drive wrecklessly, and cut off their exhausts to make it more "racecar." It bugs me majorly. I like sound, but not 150 decibel plus at 1:00 AM.

Now, hate me if you want, but I cannot like anything Chevrolet after coming across so many disrespectful owners. Sorry. I would love someone to change my mind about it. Like, I feel there is hope somewhere. Unless those people aren't true Chevrolet fans, then I'm pretty sure I haven't met a true fan yet.

I will forever maintain that the Chevy Small Block (in all of it's forms) is the best performance engine ever made and debate people who disagree, but I'm always polite.

There are dickhead owners that go along with every brand and to some degree each model of car. Generally the jackass owners gravitate to the "popular" Chevrolets (Camaro, Chevelle, Corvette) If you see someone with Monza, A Monte Carlo, Vega, Nova or a Corvair I guarantee they are good people.

Well. I drive a fart cannoned cavalier with badly aligned headlights. (one is broken) The noise it makes is tremendous. I park underneath my neighbours windows (no choice) and due to work turn the car on right as the clock hits 6am. I also often wear a chevrolet jacket and sometimes a chevrolet cap. Sorry.

I have a Chevy Volt, 73 Buick LeSabre, 54 MG and my wife's DD, an 08 VW Passat Wagon (with a manual!). I love talking to people about whatever car they or I am interested in. I might not know my euro sedans or japanese models like I should, but I know when someone is enthusiastic and I'm going to see what I can learn and teach.

Well my dad used to have a C6 z06 and he was nice. He's also getting his new C7 stingray w/ z51 performance pack and 7 speed Mañuel in a couple of weeks and he's a nice guy. There's a guy on oppo who has a C6 Z06 who's nice, I think his username is zman or something and his logo is the z06 thing. I think you'll encounter those types of assholes with any brand. There are plenty of Honda guys with crappy civics and a fartcan exhaust that think they're the greatest, or the euro snobs, and then the gm/ford/dodge guys. Assholes know no one brand, and you'll find great guys in all facets of the car world if you know where to look (Look at oppo)

I really wanted to own a Chevy. Then a mopar came my way. I'd go so far to admit that when I was younger, I was a Chevy Racing fanboy. Not as much anymore, because I've become very partial to Mercedes. For reasons I don't really need to repeat...

One of my friends has a Corvette with 200k miles, and they're pretty cool. They're only dicks when someone is a dick to them first. They go to Corvette meets, but they are not typical corvette guys because they work on it themselves, and have on occasion actually helped get corvettes running.

There's a fine line between being a car guy, and customizing a car. That's how I see it.

Ive noticed that the people that talk down other cars. They usually dont know a whole lot about engines, or cars in general. Peope that say, pushrods are crap, or 4 cylinders dont make power.

I know guys who have Prius's (Prii?). They have long commutes and like the tech on board, and don't give two other craps about cars. I drove one for a week when I was starting to car-shop and that week convinced me that a) it was neat does all the stuff it does well and b) I could never, ever DD one.

Heh. I drove a cavalier for years! It wasn't loud though, quiet as a mouse. Put about 275K miles on her. I *still* miss that car. So many good memories. She's the car I learned how to do basic maintenance on: oil changes, brake jobs, light and socket replacements. Good times with me and my dad.

The Murdersofa is a Buick LeSabre 2000 with matte black PlastiDip, 20" wheels with wider-than-stock tires, some mild frame stiffening, aftermarket rear shocks, a K&N filter that belongs on an 800hp drag car, 3" exhaust with a glasspack and stock cat, ZZP 1.0 PCM tune, naturally aspirated, 223,000 miles, and I take it autocrossing and scare the ever living crap out of my passengers due to the tremendous amounts of leather and body roll.
